Target values/Agreeing on targets

When establishing target values, it is important that the people whose improvements and results are to be measured take part in determining the target. This thereby ensures that the target is not imposed upon them, but rather, becomes the initiative of each person, thus triggering intrinsic motivation.

Experience has shown that when target values are specified, numbers are right on target. In cases where management and employees are given the opportunity to define production targets, the specified target values were considerably higher than what was thought possible.
